I have not blogged in like FOREVER! I have decided that this year I need to write it all down so I can learn and grow! This last year has been one of faith and patience. As many of you know my divorce was final Feb. 2011. It was a hard thing to do not knowing what the future would hold. I got a job a Macey's working in the Deli. I had never worked with food before, but I have to say I really do enjoy it. I have meet so many new people and have made lots of friends! In September I started a CNA course. I am going to keep going and get my RN. I am looking forward to this year and to bigger and better things! Matthew: He is in the middle of his 8th grade year and getting so BIG! He is 5'5" and rubs it in my face every day! I cant believe that he will be in High School next year. He is taking band this year and loves it. He also loves his math class, every day he comes homes and says "Mrs P. said.........." . Marcus: He is in the 3rd grade this year. He is my little shadow, he loves to go every where I go. I think that if he could go to work with me he would! :) He is a great helper around the house and with his brothers. He has a very giving and kind heart! Mason: He is in the 1st grade and learning to read! He is a very happy little boys and he LOVES to eat, all the time! I think if he didn't have so much energy he would be a chubby little boy! He loves to draw and color. Monson: He is 2 years old. He is talking so much. I love to listen to his little voice. He like to talk in the 3rd person all the time. He knows his name and if you call him anything else the will make sure you know that is not who he is! He love to "Queen" and "Mater"!
It is so hard to believe that 12 years ago today I had my first child!!!
Matthew was due on May 31. I was in for the long haul and the Dr. said that he would start me on June 1st. We got to the hospital sometime that day and the got me all hooked up and got things started. The contractions started and I received the epidural. They broke my water around 5pm. My doctor told my family that might as well go out for the night because I was going to be there a long time! (That is something you sure don't want to hear). We labored thru the night and around 6am I was finally ready to start pushing. We tried and tried and nothing was working. Every doctor in the world (so it felt like) came in to see what was going on. My doctor told me that he would not even dare try the forceps for fear that it would hurt the baby. They decided to do a c-section. That was so very scary to me, I had no idea what was going to happen. Matthew was born almost 24 hours after we got started. He weighted 8lbs. 9 0z. He was such a cute little baby. I remember one of the first nights being home, he slept the entire night.
Matthew is growing into a very handsome young man. He is at the age where we are more friends than parent-child. He is a very good helper with his little brothers. He loves to learn new things. He wants to learn to cook and to bake. He is very much into baseball and skateboarding. I am so very proud of him for making the choice to receive the priesthood. I am very thankful to be his mother. I love you Matt!! Happy Birthday son!!!
