Lazy Day of Summer

Today was a good day. We went to the park this morning for play group, for me that was fun but apparently for my 10 year old, he is to big to play at the park now. So I told him that if he cant play at the park, then he cant play video games anymore!! He didn't like that to much, but of course he still didn't get up and play. When we came home we went out and played in the pool. Mason was so cute jumping into the pool, I had to get it on video. ( sorry no sound). I cant believe that school starts in 21 days!!!

New Family Member

Welcome to the family!! This is our new dog Jake. Rick and Matt picked him up in Missouri. It was a really sad place. There was a field full of pens and about 30 dogs were locked up. Jake just wanted to get out, so they saved him. Rick said it looked like they had been beaten. Jake is such a good little puppy. He rarely barks and he is very very lazy. He loves to sleep.




He loves to have his belly rubbed. The boys are doing really good with him. This morning Mason said to me,"mommy I will pick up the doggie poop outside!" I said to him if you want to help Matt that is wonderful. He came back inside and said, "Ewww I wont do that again!" He is so funny.

Happy 24th of July

Happy Pioneer Day!!!! We had a super time at the childrens parade. The kids had so much fun on the float "trailer". It was still really hot but we made it. Learned a few things that if we are still in charge next year to do different. ie water!!! Overall it was great fun and thanks to all who planned and made it happen.

Fire!!!!

WOW, I have been trying to fall asleep, but it is not happening!!!

Today was a normal day for the most part. Spent the day at my mother-in-laws house and helped with a few things. She came over this afternoon and we were going to crochet, but she was pretty tired and decided to go home. It was about 6pm and I decided to go to Walmart to pick up a few scans of yarn to start on a new baby blanket for a dear friend. We came home had some dinner and went downstairs to watch a movie. Mason had fallen asleep, but of course Marcus was still awake. It was almost 10 and the phone rang. I thought it was Rick calling to say he was going to bed for the night. It was Lori and she said "go outside, go out your back door and see Heather. I could not imagine what was going on. There were a few people out on the back lawn. Then they said " Your car is on fire!!!!" I was like WHAT my car is on fire???? It was engulfed in flames atleast 6 feet in the air. Total panic!!!! How does a car just start on fire???? I call Rick totally paniced Marcus came out with me but Mason is still in the house. I ran back inside and got him outside and took him to the Kirby's. Thank you for that!!!!! The fire truck seemed to take forever to get here!!! I tried to call my mother-in-law and I cant get the call to go thru!! I kept saying where is the fire department!!!!! The windows start popping out, the tires start to pop, and I just kept thinking that the gas tank was going to explode!!! Finally the fire trucks show up. They hurry and put the fire out. My neighbors car was parked next to us and the doors and back bumper started to melt. Thank heavens it didn't blow up. By this time all the neighbors are outside to see what was going on. I am so very grateful and feel so very blessed that we are all OK. I want to tell everyone a BIG THANK YOU for your support. Like my mother-in-law said "You can always replace a car, but you cant replace your family." I have taken a few pictures, but going to take so many more tomorrow when we can see. Hopefully I can fall asleep soon.

Marcus and Grasshoppers

Marcus has developed a new love for grasshoppers!!! He loves to go outside and catch them with Addy. So today we are going over to Nana's and there are a TON of them at her house. I told him we could take a can with him and see how many he can catch for Addy. He was so excited. This is how the conversation went.

Mom: I have a can with a lid on it, I will put some holes in it and you can bring them home with us.
Marcus: A lid, great then I can just open it and catch them in the can.
Mom: But then you will let the others ones out, you need to catch them with your hands.
Marcus: But I dont like them in my hands.
Mom: "Big smile on face"
Marcus: Oh mom maybe I can wear some "Glubes" and then I can catch him!!
Mom: Yes son we will get you some "Glubes"

I am so happy that he likes to play with bugs. Thanks Addy for helping him.

Summertime fun and Baking

This last weekend we went and spent the night at my brother's house in WVC. We had a ton of fun they have a swimming pool.

Marcus loves the water and it took me forever to get him out of the water. Mason is not to sure of it yet, but I think its because he cant reach the bottom of the pool.

That same day (friday) our ward had an assignment at the Pasta Plant. When I was a teenager my mom and dad's ward went there all the time and I loved to go and serve. It was alot of fun and I am looking forward to go back many more times.

My girlfriend who I have know since I moved to Tooele had her 40th Birthday on friday. We went over to her home on sunday for dinner and I made her a cake! It was so much fun. I really enjoy making cakes and I am having fun much making new creations. Her son is turning 12 on the 14th of August and I am going to be making him a cake with his favorite football team colors on it. Here are a few pictures. Have a good day.

4th of July

I guess I am a little slow at posting, but hey I am doing it! We had a great time at the parade. Nana's and Uncle Jason went with us. My favorite part is when the Jet's go over. The boys really liked the horses. Marcus wants to run in the parade next year. Lets see if mommy can get in shape to do it with him :)

Dad and Matt were still in town, but they had to wait in the semi to see if they got a load :(. When we got home we had a BBQ with some of our family and that was a lot of fun. We went down to Deseret Peak to watch the fireworks. I love to lay out on the lawn and watch them. I think this was the first year that all 3 boys were happy to see them. No crying!!

I love this picture of Marcus and Mason. It makes me see that they can really be good friends. Happy 4th of July everyone!!!
